Being commissioned for a newborn portrait photography session is always a real privilege and it's one of the favourite aspects of my job as a children's and family photographer in the Midlands. Photographing tiny little miracles during the first few weeks of their brand new lives and capturing truly special moments to be cherished forever is a genuine pleasure and something I'm sure I shall never grow tired of.
Today's post features a selection of black and white portrait photographs from a recent newborn portrait session in Sutton Coldfield. At just three weeks old little Orla-Anais was the perfect petite model. Wearing the cutest 'tights and tutu' combo, and snoozing in a wonderful slumber for most of the session, she allowed me to capture some lovely serene portraits.
As always, I used natural light and shot on location to create the relaxed portrait photographs. My personal favourites are the first and last images shown below - isn't she just beautiful!
I hope you enjoy these images of baby photography in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. For more examples of my work as an on location baby photographer in Warwickshire and the Midlands please visit my website at http://www.sophiehewittphotography.co.uk/

Children's Photography in Warwickshire
As a children's photographer in Warwickshire I am lucky to have many many beautiful places to choose from for my on location portrait photo shoots. Today's post features some of my favourite images from a recent shoot with five-year-old Jack and his younger brother Josh, which involved me donning my wellies for a wonderful river walk!
We started the natural light portrait session with Jack and Josh hunting for fish and mini beasts in the babbling stream near to their nana's beautiful rural home. Mum Fru had come well prepared with waterproof boots for the boys, but when a game of Star Wars ensued (using river reeds as impromptu light-sabres - very inventive!) the brothers became rather soggy. After a warming hot chocolate and quick tumble dry of socks and soggy jeans at nana's house we continued the on location portrait shoot in the grounds and gardens surrounding the house. Winter is such as wonderful time for outdoor children's photography and the cold crisp day resulted in some lovely natural light portraits.
The shoot lasted the whole morning and during that time I was able to capture a really diverse range of shots. I hope the boys will treasure the photos in years to come - especially the ones that show the real bond between them.

Baby photography in Warwickshire
It was a pleasure to know that on Christmas Day there were clients of mine opening beautiful canvases, frames and prints of their baby and children's portrait sessions. Some were surprise gifts, so up until now I've not wanted to reveal any of the images from those particular shoots. But now all the gifts are unwrapped and the new year is upon us I can finally share some of my favourites.
Today's post features a selection of shots from a black and white baby portrait session in Warwickshire. I visited eleven month old Zac and his mum Madeleine for their family portrait session at home. The adorable Zac spent the morning playing with his favourite toys, showing off his new winter wardbrobe (love that hat!) and rolling around with his equally gorgeous dog Rocco. Pet portaits are not a speciality of mine, but Rocco was just too handsome (and not to mention cheeky) to pass up getting some shots!
As with all of my child and family portrait sessions, I used natural light and many different locations in the house during the shoot. This resulted in a great variety of black and white baby portrait photos that show all the different sides of Zac's personality - from quiet moments with mum, and rough and tumble with Rocco, to cheeky peek-a-boo grins. Below are just a few of my favourites.
