Newborn photography, Leamington Spa

Being invited to photograph newborn babies is one of the very special privileges of my job as a children's photographer in Warwickshire.  Documenting those wonderfully intimate family moments during the first days or weeks of a baby's life at home is something I shall never grow tired of.

Today's post features Teddy, who, after a rather traumatic entrance into the world, had only recently returned home after a stay in hospital when I visited him in Leamington Spa for his newborn portrait shoot.  Teddy was incredibly alert for such a new baby and he spent much of the portrait session wide awake, intrigued by the clicking and whirring of the camera.  This made for some lovely shots that really showcase Teddy's piercing eyes and which show what a real his little character he already is.

The newborn portrait session at home was wonderfully relaxed as we took time out for Teddy's feeds and naps, and chatted about the joys (and tiredness) of new motherhood!  Spending a morning in Teddy's company made me realise just how fast my own two boys are growing up and how much pleasure I get from creating photographs that in years to come will remind other parents of just how tiny their precious children once were.
